PHASE I. LAYING THE FOUNDATION

Module 2: Shaping and Structuring
Finding the manuscript form best suited to your idea, purpose and inclination.
Structuring and planning content
Ensure your project has a foundation as strong as your inspiration. Modules 1 and 2 are strongly recommended for all writers, regardless of experience or current progress.
At the conclusion of Phase I you will know clearly what you wish to write, why, and for whom. You will also have a structure to follow and a plan for content development.
PHASE II. TO FIRST DRAFT
Module 3: Initial drafting
Drafting the first three units of your writing project with real-time editorial feedback.
Finding your unique voice
You will now be confident of your writing style. You will also be able to pace yourself, and define your own path forward to continue writing.
Module 4: The Full Manuscript
Establishing a sustainable writing schedule, with a focus on consistency and accountability
Completing your first draft, with continuous guidance and editorial feedback
You will now have a completed first draft of your manuscript, ready for refining and polishing.
PHASE III. REFINING AND MAKING YOUR MANUSCRIPT ‘PUBLISHER-READY’
Module 5: Structural & Copy-Editing
Further structural and other edits from your mentor, to be incorporated towards a second draft.
Copy-editing by a seasoned copy-editor for an additional charge. This is optional.
Final edits.
Your manuscript will now be ready to publish in accordance with your objectives.
PHASE IV. TOWARDS PUBLISHING
Module 6: Identifying publishers and platforms
FOR TRADITIONAL PUBLISHING
Identifying and shortlisting suitable agents/publishers
Helping to frame an initial query letter

FOR SELF-PUBLISHING
Evaluating platforms and options to match your target readership and objectives.
Your mentor will explain and discuss the self-publishing process with you.
Calliope does not format or undertake the actual publishing of your manuscript on any self-publishing platform.
